First and foremost, thank you for showing interest in our story. A very big hello from Andy, Clint and John. Our journey began with simply a passion for entertaining and playing games with our family and friends. Growing up playing all kinds of TTRP, TCG and video games from places in town like Gamestation, Game and Electronics Boutique (if you are old enough to remember it)
Like lots of folks, as we got older our love of gaming reminded us of those old games we use to play such as HeroQuest, Talisman, Ghost Castle and also how human interaction is so important to live happy, healthy lives.
We have been close friends for over 20 years and regularly meet up for board games nights. We do like to play all variety of games but our usual go-to's are social deduction and coop. Some of our current favourites are Cosmic Encounter, Thunder Road, Return to Dark Tower and Final Girl. We also run and take part in various activities like Blood on the Clocktower, D&D, Online Twilight Imperium, and miniature painting.
Andy
(who couldn't find a better picture) A jack of all trades and master of most of them. His board game collection is impressive but not as impressive as his Dev and crafting skills. Our tables, crokinole boards, and website / "Guru" software are his babies. Board & Bean would not be as unique and exciting as it is without Andy's passion and skill.
Clinton
Clint is the engine that keeps Board & Bean running. As co-founder and manager he handles stock, suppliers, rotas, and smooth day-to-day operations, making sure events start on time and the space stays welcoming. A builder by trade, he's the one fixing, tweaking, and improving the café between coffees. You'll often see him at the door with a smile, helping pick the right game or giving a quick teach. Favourite tables: heavy strategy epics and a good dose of social deduction.
John
John is not actively working with us at the moment but he was previously managing the amazing events we host, and is responsible for a lot of our social and community initiatives, as well as keeping you all up to date with the latest on our socials.
We are all Chesterfield born and bred. We want to bring back some of that great community spirit our town once had. We believe providing a safe and relaxed area for people to play, eat, drink, and socialise is just what the town needs. Our focus will be on locally sourced food and drink to complement our gaming establishment.
Board & Bean has something for everyone and is inclusive of all, regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality, or background knowledge. Come and experience something that we believe is completely unique to the area. Have fun, make some new friend, play some great games and crush your enemies.
