THE DOORS TO HEAVEN
Belle Époque Paris, 1895, where a printed version of the dread play is first published. Players portray American art students in its absinthe-soaked world, navigating the Parisian demimonde and investigating mysteries involving gargoyles, vampires, and decadent alien royalty.

Inspired by Robert W. Chambers’ influential cycle of short stories, the suppressed play, The King in Yellow, once read, invites madness or a visit from its titular character, an alien ruler intent on invading and remolding our world into a colony of his planet, Carcosa.

GUMSHOE
YKRPG uses Pelgrane Press’ GUMSHOE system, a set of roleplaying rules focused on gathering information and solving mysteries. GUMSHOE says that failing to get information is never interesting. When your character uses a relevant ability in a situation where there are clues to be found, you always get them. This simple premise allows us to present rich, layered mysteries in which the object is not to randomly stumble across a few key bits of information, but to piece together the truth hidden within a larger web of clues.
