Madame Ching invites 2-4 players to embark on exciting sea voyages, aiming to navigate their ships across the ocean, potentially reaching Hong Kong. Each player begins with four cards, numbered from 1 to over 50, featuring colorful bars and symbols. On their turn, players lay down a card, choose a new one from the available options, and then move their ship. They can either start a new journey or extend an existing one by playing a higher-numbered card. Matching the card's color allows for a direct move, while different colors require navigating both down and right.

As voyages are completed, players score points based on their journey's length and can claim ship tiles. The ocean is filled with valuable spaces, and moving skillfully can lead to higher scores. Players collect gems along the way, which also add to their final tally. Special symbols on cards offer bonus actions, such as stealing gems or cards, and can lead to the powerful Madame Ching vessel, which ends the game. At the end, players count their points from destinations, gems, and other achievements to find out who is the winner.
